Mabinogi : Fossil Restoration Preview
Ever stood eye to eye with one of Erinn's most terrifying monsters, without so much as flinching? Ever wielded the cold steel of a blade or pulled taut the smooth shaft of an arrow, with hands that never once shivered or twitched? When cooking, are your measurements absolutely perfect? Hope so, because only those who are patient and precise will succeed in the art of fossil restoration!
Fossils can be obtained in two ways. The first is by hunting creatures in the Zardine region. Monsters there have a small chance of dropping fossils encased in stone. Second, mining flint or sulfur in the Zardine region will sometimes provide you with fossils. You'll have a higher chance of finding fossil artifacts through mining than through hunting monsters.
Once you've obtained a fossil fragment, you can attempt to restore it to its original shape. This is done by tracing the outline of the fossil in its encased rock as closely as possibly without chipping it. You'll have three different dusting brushes available, and choosing the right size brush for each part of the restoration process is essential. But don't dilly-dally! You only have a short time to restore the fossil.
Unless you've totally destroyed the fossil, return to Calida Exploration Camp and speak with Belita once you've finished the restoration process. She'll appraise your restoration and reward you accordingly.
Do your best each time you try to restore a fossil. Erinn needs more adventuring archaeologists just like you!
